Park Portraits

I often do individual, family or large corporate group portraits in outdoor spaces. Natural light, grass, flowers and trees can help us to relax and feel comfortable in the presence of a camera. Also, there are usually plenty of healthy distractions and focal points to engage with in between moments of focus.

The best light for park portraits occurs during the morning or late afternoon. However, in parks with tall trees and lots of shade, (Cordonices) portraits can be taken wherever there is shade. The light on trails inside of wooded areas also works well, especially when large open areas are present in the background, for individuals or small groups.

Even though I’m calling them park portraits, beaches, gardens, backyards, courtyards and even sidewalks near foliage can be good portrait locations. So, if you’d like to do an outdoor portrait with nature in the scene, please let me know and we can make it happen.
